Where to stay

The area around Lac Saint-Joseph is characterized by private cottages and seasonal vacation rentals, many of which follow the historical development guidelines set by Thomas Maher. Visitors can find rustic lakeside cabins or more modern year-round residences along the shoreline. Options range from 150 to 350 CAD per night depending on proximity to the water and amenities. Larger tourist resorts are concentrated toward the Duchesnay side, providing direct access to the lake's recreational zones.

Things to do nearby

The region is defined by its outdoor access, particularly through the Station touristique Duchesnay, which offers extensive kayak and SUP rentals for exploring the lake's unique shape. Hikers can access the trails surrounding the Jules-Carpentier Ecological Reserve to view the local forest ecosystem. For those interested in regional heritage, the nearby town of Sainte-Catherine-de-la-Jacques-Cartier offers a look into the historical roots of the New France settlements and the legacy of the area's early noble landowners.
