Grand Prix Vuelta de obligado

Nov 14, 2026
Distance: 18km

About the race

The Vuelta de Obligado is one of those challenges that cannot be explained by distance alone. You swim with your body, but also with history, memory, and the desire to be part of something that transcends the finish line.

In this edition, OWA once again invites swimmers who want to live a grand experience: 18 kilometers in the Paraná, with professional operations, a historic setting, and a community that understands that water is not just crossed: it also unites us.

Where to stay

San Pedro offers a range of options, primarily focused on 'cabañas' (river cabins) and local guesthouses. Many swimmers opt for the camping facilities near the Club América venue to stay close to the water’s edge. Prices generally range from 40 to 90 USD per night depending on proximity to the riverfront.

Things to do nearby

The area is defined by its agricultural heritage and river culture. Visitors can explore the historical site of the battle through guided interpretive trails, or engage in kayak excursions to navigate the smaller 'arroyos' that feed into the Paraná. Local vineyards in the San Pedro region offer tastings of regional white wines, providing a quiet contrast to the intensity of the race day.
